IQMobile Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026. This policy covers the IQMobile Android app. For the VerusTrack website, see the Website Privacy Policy.

About IQMobile and this policy

IQMobile is an Android application provided by VerusTrack for field asset management, including activities performed without an Internet connection.

This policy explains how IQMobile accesses, receives, uses, stores and exchanges information. It covers the mobile application. Information handled when you visit the VerusTrack website is addressed separately in our Website Privacy Policy.

Condor Cliff manages IQMobile’s publication on Google Play on behalf of VerusTrack.

No registration or sign-in in IQMobile

IQMobile does not require a user account, registration or sign-in. It does not ask the person operating the app to provide a name or password for authentication.

The app can nevertheless receive information about a certifier for inclusion in asset certificates. The certifier may be someone other than the person operating IQMobile.

Information handled by IQMobile

Asset and equipment information

IQMobile handles information used to identify and manage equipment, including asset and NFC tag identifiers, asset records, equipment images, assigned locations or zones, picking lists and enrollment information.

An assigned asset location or zone identifies the equipment’s recorded location; it is not, by itself, GPS tracking of the phone.

Certifier information and templates

IQMobile receives certificate and signature templates from Cloud IQPortal. These templates can contain the certifier’s name and signature image, supplied through IQWebApp or IQPortal.

The app uses these details when generating asset certificates on the mobile device. The certifier’s name and signature are visible to any person who views the relevant certificate through IQMobile.

Images and documents

IQMobile can handle equipment photos taken with the camera or selected on the device, together with templates, reports and certificates used in field work. Images and document contents may identify people if such information is included.

Settings and pending work

IQMobile stores configured service addresses, preferences, saved records and pending operations needed to continue or resume field work.

How information is used

IQMobile uses information to:

  • Read and update compatible equipment tags.
  • Display and manage asset records.
  • Work with equipment images and picking lists.
  • Retrieve certificate and signature templates.
  • Generate and display asset certificates locally.
  • Maintain settings and recover unfinished asset-management operations.

Connections, destinations and security

Cloud IQPortal

Certificate and signature templates containing certifier names and signature images are downloaded from Cloud IQPortal to IQMobile using HTTPS, which encrypts the connection during transfer.

IQReader

IQMobile exchanges non-personal asset and equipment information with the configured IQReader.

This connection may use HTTP on the local network. HTTP does not encrypt those asset-data exchanges. The IQReader connection is not used to download certifier names or signature templates, or to upload generated certificates.

Use the Reader network designated by your organization and protect access to the equipment and network.

Generated certificates

Certificates generated by IQMobile remain on the mobile device. IQMobile does not upload these certificates to IQReader, IQPortal or another server.

Other document viewers

If you choose to open a document in another Android application, that application receives access to the selected document on the device. Its handling of the document and any separately saved copies is subject to that application’s practices.

Connection information

Services contacted by IQMobile receive technical connection information, such as the connecting network address and the requested resource. Any service-side logging and retention depend on the service operator’s practices.

Camera, NFC and network access

IQMobile requests camera permission when needed to take equipment photos. You can deny or revoke camera permission through Android Settings. You may also select images for an asset using the available image-selection feature.

NFC is used with compatible equipment tags. Internet and network-state access support communication with Cloud IQPortal and the configured IQReader.

Local storage, retention and deletion

Asset records, images, downloaded templates, settings and pending work can remain on the mobile device across app restarts to support field operations. Pending asset operations may be retried when the relevant connection becomes available.

Use the app’s available controls or Android’s app-data controls to remove locally stored information. Clearing app data or uninstalling IQMobile may permanently remove unsynchronized work. Complete or preserve necessary field work before taking those actions.

Copies saved separately through another application may need to be deleted using that application or the device’s file-management controls.

Removing information from IQMobile does not delete the original certifier records or templates maintained in IQWebApp or IQPortal, or asset information previously exchanged with IQReader.

For requests to access, correct or delete certifier information maintained in another service, contact the organization managing that record or VerusTrack. Requests concerning organization-managed records will need to be coordinated with the responsible administrator. Any retention requirements will be addressed as part of that process.

Privacy questions and requests

Contact VerusTrack at sales@verustrack.com and include “IQMobile Privacy Request” in the subject.

Please describe whether your request concerns information on your mobile device, a certifier record in IQWebApp or IQPortal, or an asset record. Do not send passwords or unnecessary copies of signature images.
